The girls had their first swim class on Christmas Eve. We were in two minds about starting them so early due to the logistics of doing it with two babies and Little Man, even though he began around eight months of age. But Little Red’s physiotherapist said it’s really great exercise for her and so we felt it was fundamental to just go for it. We decided to book two thirty minute sessions, one following the other, so that Hubby could get in the pool and I could sit with the other baby and LM. It was great but far too long for the boy to sit still so we’ve decided to alternate the girls each week from now on.
Enough about logistics though! Here are some photos from their first swimming lessons:
Firstly, their bathers – you know me and my love of a good double entendre!
First in was Copperhead who we were so sure would, in Hubbys words, “flip out”. She didn’t though and apart from a few moments seemed to really enjoy herself.
Then the Baby Bear, Little Red was next in. Now, my sweet girl has always been a water baby. From her very first bath she’s loved to splash around and seems to be completely at ease in the water. Her favourite bit was being swung around by her Daddy!
I’m so happy to share this moment with you all because it feels like a pretty big milestone for us.
