This week has been truly horrendous (sleep and health wise). Monday started with an X-Ray for Fen’s hip and a meeting with the Dr/supervisor of anaesthetists regarding my constant back problems (that started after having the spinal block during my ceaser).

The appointment did not go brilliantly but it’s something I don’t really want to go into at the moment. All I’ll say is that I eventually received an apology, was told I’ll likely have chronic pain for life and can expect an MRI and physio in my near future. Awesome.

The girls are teething and teething hard. Cue sleepless nights with one or both of them and Hubby and I doing some serious tag-teaming.

Thursday night it was Fen waking at 11:30. I cuddled her and gave her pain relief before heading back towards the bedroom. On the way she vomited around three days worth of bottles all over me. It was awful, warm and covered quite a bit of my hair. The silver lining was that none got on the carpet πŸ™ŒπŸ» Hubby quickly came to my rescue so I could jump in the shower. I then spent the next four and a half hours comforting her and rocking her to sleep in the bouncy chair.

Like the three nights before, I then tag out for a few hours of catch-up sleep while Hubby does the early morning.

One of the fun things about doing the night shift is I never know what outfits the boys have dressed the girls in – and yes, it is a Father/Son collaboration. On Wednesday it was a Christmas theme of red and white stripes. Yesterday it was polka dots and snow boots. I’m not nearly as inventive and tend to dress them all the same!

  1. I am so sorry to hear about your back. That is just awful and I feel inexcusable.
I can’t even imagine two bubs teething at the same time, what an absolute challenge. Hoping it passes quickly for them both so you can get some rest πŸ™‚
