We’ve just had a lovely trip to Sydney and I have to say, I LOVE the city. Hubby and I first holidayed there back in 2007 and again in 2009 for our honeymoon. Now we’re only an hour and a half away I can see many day trips in our future. I’m already counting down to the Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera exhibition taking place at the Art Gallery of New South Wales, coming next June-October. Totally sounds like an advert there but I’m hoping to go during that time even if I have the twins strapped to my chest and Little Man on my back! For the meantime I’ll save explaining my love of Frida Kahlo for that future post and get back to Sydney for you.
I found the people so helpful, friendly and just pretty genuine which surprised me for such a large city. From the older lady who offered her train seat to me to the ice cream seller gushing over Little Man’s hair and giving him extra sprinkles. The man who offered to help us carry LM and his pram (while he was sitting in it) up the copious amounts of stairs at Museum Station. Then there was the many firemen who indulged him with waves as he looked at them with excitement.
I must say, I cannot wait to go back. Hopefully we might sneak in another weekender before the babies come.
Here are a few pics I took with my proper camera (as I embarrassingly still like to call it). The collages were taken with my phone. You can see some others I took during our time there on Instagram.
I just cannot wait to go back. Due to the twins having a growth spurt I was pretty uncomfortable walking for most of the time. Of course this eased off significantly the day after we arrived home! So compared to our usual city breaks where we cram in as much as possible and do around twenty-two hours of walking per day, we didn’t do a whole lot. That’s probably why I’m so desperate to wander around The Rocks again and visit some places we missed.
Hopefully I won’t have to wait too long!
