Little Man has got the sniffles so that means I have had less than two hours sleep. It’s going to be a fun day. Let me tell you how it’s been so far….

THE STUFF NIGHTMARES ARE MADE OF!

LM did his room service cry (where he’s not really crying but he wants you to come in and entertain him) from around 11pm. Since Hubby had to leave at 3am I made the decision to get up and sit with LM on my lap.

At first it was magical, we watched Modern Family in the dark and he didn’t even try to pull my hair. Just me, my son and the quiet neighbourhood. But then he started to get a bit upset again so I gave him a bottle and some pain relief. At 2am, when I was confident he was sufficiently passed out in my arms, I returned him to his cot and went to bed.

I vaguely remember hearing Hubby walking into the new safety gate we recently fitted in the hallway, because he’d obviously forgotten it was there, and leaving for work. Fifteen minutes later LM was up. I went in to calm him and give him his dummy but then he didn’t want me to put him back down so out we came to the TV room for some quiet time again.

He eventually became sleepy and I tried to put him down in his cot, this didn’t work so I tried to co-sleep. I couldn’t take the eye gouging and lip pulling anymore so decided it was better to admit defeat and have a day without rest.

Happily LM has now been sleeping for an hour and a half and I’m hoping this will help with his cold.

I bet you’re thinking, what now? Well Readers, I’ve just fed Oscar and am going to have M&Ms for breakfast. I’d love to say I’m going to change into some clean clothes but I think we both know that isn’t going to happen.

He still hasn’t broken me though…. Wish me luck for the rest of the day.

Until next time,

Katie

Edited to add: Yep. He totally broke me…
