A few weekends ago Little Man just started putting Copperheads shoes on when we were getting ready to go out. Is there anything more adorable than a big brother helping his baby sister put her pretty tiny shoes on?
The best part? She just let him! Considering we’d only tried her with shoes a couple of times before she was surprisingly compliant. I mean, there wasn’t even an attempt of a swift kick to the face or anything.
These two share a special bond and it’s just gorgeous. I swear I am not being biased AT ALL!
I especially love the little toe curl at the end!
I’m still smiling while I look through these. Such a lovely moment and I’m so glad I was there to capture it.
We also receive a lot of comments about Little Mans glittery shoes that you can kind of see here. They’re actually girls shoes (although I don’t think it really matters) from Cotton On Kids. I got them for $10 in a recent sale and when I showed him he took a gasp and went “DANCING SHOES!”.
One particular shoe was a bit difficult to get on and I wondered if he had one foot bigger than the other. Until several instances after wearing them I discovered a rolled up ball of paper in the toe. He hadn’t said anything and ran about just fine so I’m desperately trying not to feel The Mum Guilt. And laugh. I’m trying not to laugh.
It reminds me of the time my parents and I took my young nephews to the zoo and, at the end of the day, one of them complained about his shoe hurting. We took it off his foot off, undoing the impossibly tight laces The Mothership always does, and found a massive plastic pig in the heel. To be exact it was actually a fairly confronting anatomically correct sow. It was honestly half the size of the poor boys trainer. We still giggle about it now even though the udders must have been incredibly uncomfortable.
Copperheads shoes (Little Red has a matching pair) are from Best & Less. I can’t see these particular ones online anymore but they do have similar styles.
