Little Man has been going to bed a bit later so in an effort to provide him with PG entertainment I switch on one of the many reality cooking shows that seems to be always on. I’ve noticed a theme the past few months about a new, hipster and down-right pretentious language appearing as they try to out do each other. For example….

I really like the honesty and integrity of this dish
Well, that’s what I always look for in a meal.

That smear of (insert edible food source here) is delicious
FYI, if the word “smear” comes anywhere near my food then I’m not eating it.

The rhythm of the dish
Note to producers: only Gloria Estefan can get away with saying something like this.

The sauce really helps create the theater of the dish
Does that mean my mouth is the stage? I’m not sure how I feel about that.

This is mushroom dust
Obviously.

And one of my own that I would like to suggest for future shows… unless I missed that episode?

There is an orgy in my mouth.

Until next time,

Katie

  1. Hahaha love it! I think Manu on my kitchen rules came close to saying “orgy in my mouth”, but didn’t quite get there… PG afterall hahaha. Don’t want the kiddies asking their parents what an ‘orgy’ is ๐Ÿ™‚

    1. Manu can pretty much say what he wants in my book…! ๐Ÿ˜‰ And if you can’t say “orgy in my mouth” on a cooking show then when can you say? I mean, what is the world coming to…
