We’ve been spending a lot of time at the beach. It always seems to lift our spirits and we come away happier, plus it gets us out of the house. It’s hard not to feel somewhat cabin feverish at times like these. I’d also like to point out that it is officially “winter” here in Queensland and that a winter day can be the same temperature as a record breaking summers day in England.

I love the rock pools and the gentle lapping of the waves. There is nothing like seeing nature at it’s finest and most powerful.

Why, hello there Mr Crab!

I know it’s a bit rude to snap pictures of people without their knowledge (or permission) but this guy looked as contemplative as I felt and I just had to capture the moment…

Little Man loved walking on the sand but wasn’t so sure about the waves lapping at his feet…

I’m also really proud of the way I accidentally captured my boys reflections on the sand as well. I think this is one to be printed and hung on my wall!

We’re off to the beach again today if the rain holds out. I really want Little Man to be comfortable in that environment (because I am not). My worries about his skin and, if myths about redheads are to be believed, the possibility he may turn into flames and subsequently end up a pile of ash have to be put to one side.

Until next time,

Katie

    1. I grew up in a town that was furthest from the coast in any direction so it makes me a little nervous when Little Man heads straight for the water! I suppose as long as I don’t let him eat shells I’m winning 😉
