I write about life with humour and heart.”

Hi there!

My name is Katie and I was born and raised in England but now call Australia home after meeting my Aussie-Irish husband Michael AKA Hubby.

Having lived in sunny Queensland for over eight years, and having many wonderful adventures with our young son and mischievous cat Oscar, we relocated to New South Wales in late 2015. The move coincided with my twin pregnancy which obviously made for an interesting time! We welcomed our daughters, ten weeks early in January 2016.

In this blog I refer to my boy as Little Man and the girls as Copperhead and Little Red. I very much believe we are all part of The Weasley dynasty!

I have the dry sense of humour of a stereotypical British person and I love baking, photography and writing. I used to enjoy a bit of travel before life got the good kind of hectic. Honestly, I have never felt more at home then during a trip to Hobbiton, New Zealand. It really did feel like the perfect place to raise a family!

I write about anything that’s going on in my life ranging from parenting anecdotes, our fertility struggles, pregnancy losses and, most recently, my battle with Post Natal Depression.

At first I didn’t feel comfortable sharing my deeply personal thoughts on the latter topics but, after what can only be described as verbal diarrhea but with typing during a particularly painful period, I now speak openly about my grief and experiences. Sounds a tad depressing, right? Well, it’s not all doom and gloom, you’ll also find lightheartedness and, what I hope to be, relatively insightful and humorous posts.

I generally post on a Monday, Wednesday and Friday and you can find me on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram.

Thanks for reading,
Katie

  1. I have been invited by a fellow blogger to participate in a blog hop for women in writing. She is a fellow RPL/infertility blogger, but not everyone involved is related to infertility (I actually think most are not). This is just a way to connect female bloggers across all communities, and share great blogs. Anyway, since I enjoy your blog so much, I am wondering if you would like to participate? Below are links to my friend’s blog hop post and the post preceding hers. If you’re interested in participating, can you send me your a photo of you and a short bio? My email address is myperfectbreakdown@gmail.com. You can see my bio in my friend’s post for reference. I would like to put my post up early next week, and then I think you have a week or so to put your post up after mine.
If you are interested, after I post my post with your bio, then you just have to write a brief description about why you write and answer the questions in bold. Be sure to include pics and bios for 2-3 people who you invite to participate.
What do you think? Is this something you would want to do? If you have more questions, just let me know.
